
Christine Hornung is a Calgary-based visual artist who works with oils, charcoal, wax and collage.
She is passionate about motherhood and ecology and the complex intersections of the two. Her recent work is an exploration of universal themes of motherhood, using symbolism of wildlife to illustrate the unseen work and tension of this complicated relationship.
Her current project is a series of self portraits using wildlife avatars as narrative portraits of herself and the people in her life.
She has a MSc in Ecology and is completing her BFA spring 2022 while raising her three children.
