Ellen Sillence is an interdisciplinary artist originally from northern BC, who grew up on the unceded territory of the Llheidli T’enneh and Nak'azdli nations. Ellen is a Yukon School of Visual Arts alumni and is currently pursuing a BFA in Interdisciplinary Arts at NSCAD.
Ellen’s work has been shown in a number of group shows here in Halifax/Kjipuktuk, in Yukon, in BC, and elsewhere, including Houseguest Gallery in Louisville, Kentucky, Something Shows in Whitehorse, YT, Studio 2280 in Prince George BC, and more recently at the Anna Leonowens Gallery. Ellen is the recipient of a Yukon Arts Council Emerging Artists Grant and a remote residency through Something Shows artist-run centre, both in 2020 after graduating from Yukon SOVA.
Ellen is completing their 2nd year at NSCAD and intends to pursue a double degree with a BA in Art History.
